Position Description
Lead the design and development of a system in one of four key product lines (air induction, fluid reservoirs, HVAC ducting, interiors) through all program stages including design, prototyping, testing, validation, and launch.
- Interface with OEM Engineering, Program Management, and Manufacturing to design and develop air induction systems that provide high value solutions.
- Optimize design to meet required functional targets.
- Work with internal manufacturing and feasibility groups to optimize the system for cost, weight, and investment.
- Release and manage design changes internally and externally.
- Coordinate and track system and component testing. Update DVPR and report results to the customer.
- Release prototype design levels and coordinate delivery with customer.
- Work with internal plants to resolve launch issues and respond to the customer.
- Lead informal and formal design reviews during the program cycle.
- Monitor internal and external components to ensure program timing is met.
- APQP responsibility including Open Issues, DFMEA, Timing, and DVP&R completion.
- Participate in benchmarking activities.
- Participate in customer gate, design, and technical reviews as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited University
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing at all levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of plastic design, injection molding, blow molding, plastic welding, and assembly processes and tooling construction
- Working knowledge of Teamcenter, CATIA V5 and/or Unigraphics NX
- Working knowledge of analytical tools (FEA, CFD, GT-Power, Mold Flow)
